Description
The ProbeSeq C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Nanobody is a recombinant single-domain antibody (VHH) engineered for high-affinity and selective binding to human CRP, an acute-phase protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation. This nanobody supports research-use diagnostic assay development, inflammation monitoring studies, and advanced biosensor integration.
C-reactive protein is one of the most extensively studied clinical biomarkers for systemic inflammation, infection, sepsis, and cardiovascular disease risk assessment. CRP levels rapidly increase in response to tissue injury, bacterial infection, and immune activation, making sensitive detection essential for clinical research, therapeutic monitoring, and rapid diagnostic technology development.
Derived from camelid heavy-chain antibody architecture, this nanobody consists of a single monomeric VHH domain (~15 kDa) providing strong antigen recognition, rapid binding kinetics, and exceptional structural stability. Compared with conventional antibodies, nanobodies offer improved thermal stability, efficient surface immobilization, and reduced steric hindrance, enabling high-performance detection in electrochemical biosensors, wearable sensing platforms, and microfluidic diagnostic systems.
Typical assay workflows use sample input volumes ranging from approximately 5–50 µL depending on platform configuration and detection method. The nanobody is compatible with serum, plasma, whole blood, and buffered biological samples following appropriate assay optimization.
